Fees are only part of execution cost. Funding, spreads, slippage and liquidation charges are excluded. Venue availability and your actual account rates may differ.
Trading fees are one part of choosing a venue.
The main table compares each venue's standard entry-tier maker and taker rates. VIP, staking and token discounts are not applied. Open a venue's schedule to see its published tiers and qualification rules.
Lowest-fee labels include ties among the venues shown, at their base tiers. They do not account for execution quality, liquidity, venue access or other costs.
Rates are dated snapshots from official documentation, not live quotes. Product and regional conditions differ. Confirm the rate that applies to your account at the venue.
Funding, spreads, slippage and liquidation charges are excluded. Negative maker rates in a VIP schedule are rebates; they are not the base rate unless explicitly shown.
Short answers to common fee questions. Venue rates quoted here come from the snapshot above.
A maker order adds liquidity: a limit order that rests on the order book before it fills. A taker order removes liquidity: a market order, or a limit order that fills immediately against resting orders. Venues usually charge takers more than makers. Base maker fees in this table range from 0.015% to 0.02%; base taker fees range from 0.035% to 0.06%.
A basis point (bp) is one hundredth of a percent: 1 bp = 0.01% = 0.0001 of notional. A 5 bp fee is 0.05%, or $5 per $10,000 traded. The table shows each rate as a percentage and in basis points.
Trading fees on perpetual futures are typically a percentage of the order's notional value (position size × price), not of the margin posted. With 10× leverage, $1,000 of margin can open a $10,000 position, and the fee applies to the $10,000. Using the lowest base taker rate in this table (Deribit) of 0.035%, a market order with $10,000 notional pays $3.50 in trading fees. Closing the position is charged again on its closing notional, at the maker or taker rate of the closing order. Funding payments are separate and not included.
Most venues lower fees as an account's trading volume over a trailing window rises; some also count account balances or other conditions. Qualification windows in this snapshot: 30 days at Binance, Bitget, Bybit, Deribit and Kraken; 14 days at Hyperliquid. Each venue's tiers and conditions are under "VIP tiers & conditions" in the table. The main comparison always uses the base tier.
A negative maker fee is a rebate: the venue pays the maker a percentage of the filled notional instead of charging one. Rebates usually require high volume or a market-maker program. In this snapshot, Deribit and Kraken publish negative maker rates in tiers above their base tier. No base maker rate in this table is negative. Some venues also run separate rebate programs; where the snapshot covers one, it is noted under that venue's conditions.
A new account generally starts on the base tier shown in the main table. Your actual rate can differ by region, product, account type, promotions or token discounts, which this table does not apply. The fee page in your venue account shows the rate that applies to you.
